Technology for Learning Reading

Our topic this time is "Technology for Learning Reading".

Do you like to read? Like it or not, you must love reading because reading is important. Why is reading important? All right, let me explain it.

Reading is how we discover new things and how we develop positive self-image. The ability to read is a vital skill to be able to function in today's society. Reading is important because it helps to expand the mind and develop the imagination.

A person who knows how to educate themselves in any area of life they see fit. People who don't have low opinions of themselves and their capabilities. They mostly feel isolated and had behavior problems surface. As we live in abundance with information, it is only a way to become informed.

To increase our reading ability, we should measure the text we read. Our reading ability will be valuable if we are able to understand the contents of a context according to our age and level. Then, how do you measure it?

In "technology for Learning Reading" learning, we are introduced to a website called Readability Test Tool. We can measure a text, book, or article that we will read there. So that we are able to measure our reading ability. I have tried measuring a text from a website called Thoughtco. The title of the article that I am measuring is "Five Theories of the Origin of Language". Below is the result.

The text I selected is at level 11 and it is suitable for people aged 16 to 17 years. In my opinion, this is because the language used is easy to understand and the context that is told is also fairly scientific. This is about several theories about the origin of language. I just discussed this theory in Linguistics lectures this semester. In my opinion, this article is suitable for me and people aged 16 to 17 years to read.

This technology really helped me. With this, I can measure my reading ability by measuring what I read. I can also improve my reading material. So that it can expand my knowledge, use advance vocabulary and of course practice my ability to understand a content.
