Our topic this time is "Technology for Learning Listening"

What do you think about listening? It is hard because sometimes people speak too fast, right?

Listening is the ability to receive and interpret messages in the communication process. Listening is the key to all effective communication. Without the ability to listen effectively, messages are easily misunderstood. As a result, communication breaks down and the sender of the message can become frustrated or irritated.

If there is one communication skill you should aim to master, then listening is it. Hearing is not just listening. You must be able to understand the essence of a conversation or conversation that you hear.

To practice our listening skills, our teacher introduces us to a website called Videonote.es and ESL lab. In addition, we can also use YouTube as our learning media. One of the best channels for learning is TED Talks. There are lots of interesting content that are very good to hear.

As an assignment, we were asked to make a video record using one of the videos from TED talks youtube channel. Below is a video that I have annotated, the woman in this video tells about one of the tips to be able to communicate in English. Are you curious? Just watch the video below:

For me, this lesson really helps me train my listening skills. Not only listening but I was also able to take the main idea of a conversation. Knowing new expressions, new vocabulary and good speaking style. Then, by listening a good resource, it makes my knowledge wider than before.
