Hello all....
How are you? Are you ready for
this explanation? What I am going to discuss this time?
All right, in this
opportunity, I would like to explain about "Technology for Learning
Grammar". What is grammar?
Grammar is the structure and
system of a language or of languages in general, usually considered or consist
of syntax and morphology.
Do we need to study grammar to learn a language?
The short answer is "no". Many people in the world speak their own,
native language without having studied its grammar. Children start to speak
before they even know the word "grammar". But if you are serious
about learning a foreign language, the long answer is "yes, grammar can
help you to learn a language more quickly and more efficiently." It's
important to think of grammar as something that can help you, like a friend. When
you understand the grammar (or system) of a language, you can understand many
things yourself, without having to ask a teacher or look in a book.
In learning activities about Technology for
Learning Grammar we discussed a number of websites that can be used to learn
Grammar, one of which is VOA Learning English. As a task, we have to choose one
video that we think is the most interesting from VOA Learning English Everyday
Grammar. Below is a video that I selected along with the reviews.
I
watch several videos from VOA Learning English. Those are grammar in everyday
life. The video titles I watch are "native speaker mistakes",
"imprecise nouns", "you know", "understanding fast
talkers", "eager vs. anxious "," stative verbs
"," causatives (get & have) "," euphemistic phrasal
verbs ", and" portmanteaus ". The content of those videos is
about some mistakes in speaking English, some tips and tricks, proper use of
vocabulary, and some things that are not widely known by people.
The
most interesting video for me is causatives (get & have) video. This is
very surprising for me to know the fact that "get" and
"have" have such functions. Honestly, I just found out this content.
This video explains that we can use the word "get" and have another
person doing something. For example, 1.) I have cut my hair 2.) I got my boss
to give me a promotion. We use "have" if someone does a service for
you and "get" to someone to do something but that person may not want
to do it.
I
also have another Youtube channel to learn grammar. Below is the video.
That's all from me, Thank you for
reading.
